Water Tiger

Tiger maple, watercolour, in the year of the Water Tiger. This compact, racy ergonomic electric could be named nothing else. In a departure from my usual practice, the single-piece burled maple body has been dyed a deep blue to delight the eyes, apart from the natural live edge.
The neck is a lovely piece of perfectly straight-grained, quartersawn cocobolo wood. One of the most resonant of timbers, it is also slick and smooth, fast and pleasant to touch.
Leveraging the adaptability of 3-d printing technology, I designed and made a new combination bridge and tuner just for it. The single neck pickup is a custom-made Blackhawk by Bareknuckle pickups, with ceramic magnets for bite, and slanted coils to match the multiscale fretboard.
