Fluxion
Sound: when air pressure changes cyclically
Noise: when Sound is ever-changing- in Fluxion
Music: when we like that Noise
Fluxion is my latest guitar to utilize my “dragonskin” finish, although with a twist: this is more of a “dragonburst”. The metallic sheen of the body matches with the bespoke tuner, bridge, and knob hardware, which is all 3-d printed from an exotic amalgam of stainless steel and bronze.
The lightweight and beautifully resonant body is made of locally-sourced catalpa, a relatively rare wood with superb working properties. I even left in the tool marks in places, to emphasize that this is truly a hand-made instrument. The neck is a perfect unadulterated slab of precious Brazilian kingwood, a true dalbergia rarely obtainable as quarter sawn lumber in that size. It rang like a marimba bar when tapped, and I just knew it deserved to be used to make music.
The two single-coil pickups as well are made in-house, with bobbins made of matching kingwood. A simple 3-way selector and master tone and volume are there for support without overcomplicating things.
Now it’s time for someone to make some good noise!
